2010 C4C event: Help the Howards

 Help the Howards

In May of 2010 Caring for Community held their first Cornhole For Community event.  The inaugural event benefitted the Howard girls. In fact Caring For Community exists today because of these precious little girls.  We were introduced to their family by some friends and after hearing the story of how their Grand Aunt was taking them into her home. Their aunt is a single mother and teacher at a local school, already supporting a teenager with special needs at home.  It was upon hearing all this that the event was planned.

When we first met to discuss the idea of a benefitting Cornhole tournament we made no promises of what we could bring in. But through lots of persuation we convinced 16 teams to participate in our first tournament. Those 16 teams and numerous other local supporters allowed us to present a check to benefit the Howard girls of nearly $2000.

Since that time we continue to have a relationship with the family and have enjoyed watching the girls grow up under the love of their aunt.
